GRILLME PRIVACY
PRIVACY
Plain-language information about the data GrillMe uses to run the auction, collect verdicts, and publish results.
This page describes the current product. It is not legal advice.
What you submit
When a founder submits a startup, GrillMe receives the startup URL, normalized domain and name, optional pitch, bid state, and timestamps. The public result can show the startup name, domain, pitch, ranking history, Grill Score, votes in aggregate, roasts, and outbound click totals.
Payments and email
Stripe hosts the payment form. GrillMe does not receive or store your card number. After a successful Checkout, Stripe can provide the payer email. GrillMe may store that email as an optional private founder contact. The email is not included in public queue or result data.
Participation identifiers
GrillMe creates an anonymous identifier in your browser for participation and duplicate-response controls. The browser stores it in local storage. An outbound click also uses a first-party HTTP-only cookie so GrillMe can limit duplicate click attribution. These identifiers are not shown on public pages.
Votes, roasts, and clicks
Votes produce public aggregate percentages. Roasts can appear publicly with an optional nickname. GrillMe routes startup visits through a click endpoint before sending the visitor to the startup site. The route records the startup, visit surface, and an anonymous identifier. Repeat activity may be deduplicated.
Services and storage
Stripe processes payments. Convex stores GrillMe records and durable startup assets. Context.dev provides server-side startup enrichment used for page metadata and checked favicon, logo, social-image, and screenshot assets. GrillMe keeps provider credentials and operator controls out of public pages.
What stays private
Founder email, payment and Checkout identifiers, browser identifiers, moderation records, and operational enrichment details remain operator-only unless a page states otherwise. Public startup and result information can be copied, linked, and indexed by other people.
Retention and requests
GrillMe keeps records for auction operation, payment accounting, abuse prevention, support, and the public archive. Different record types can have different retention periods. GrillMe does not promise one fixed deletion timeline on this page. Send a specific question or request to the public support address when one is configured.
This deployment has no public support address configured.
